This entrance to a 1920's Tuteur home is much lower than the street. We re-graded to correct drainage problems, added stone walls and bluestone walks for a cozy courtyard entrance. Lots of shade plants were installed for a lush garden.
While the walls featured above are fairly formal and contemporary, here the look is more rustic. I like this wall, which appears to be dry stacked. This look can often be achieved with recycled or reclaimed materials.
