With a two story art glass window and a window seat, this stairway provides a wonderful passage way between floors. The art glass windows, used throughout the house, filter the sunlight rather than just letting it shine in. The built in bookcases and window seat at the top of the stair provide a cozy place to curl up with a book on a snowy Illinois day.

window bench - is there any way this design could be adapted to radiant heat while retaining it's elongated design? »
Bud Dietrich, AIA There are a few ways you could have radiant heat installed in a window seat like this. You should consult with a local architect to see what the options are. In this case, we would have done a toe kick type installation.
