The client wanted their Colonial Revival style home to be comfortable and inviting, but also have a beautiful and elegant feel to it. We selected glacier white painted inset cabinetry for a traditional New England style room. A soothing Halcyon color on the island was chose to bring the color of water inside the home. A beautiful reclaimed antique wood chndelier hangs over the large island as the focal point of the room.

Is the island painted or stained. Could you please tell me the name of the color. »
nicolemokri thank you....I was nerveous to put a seam thinking that it may be noticable, but I guess if done well it will look nice and be hard to see the seam.
newhome4us Did you have to have extra support within the floor ?? Plus...do you know if the owners have made a comment about ever doing an island that island again because of not being able to reach the middle?
adrianagores that's true but it seems that, for some reason, they don't mix and match the seats and the chrome/black legs only come with the distressed black seats not the "tobacco" stained seats as seen in this photo.
The neighboring kitchen reveals the rest of the treasured marble and features another breathtaking element, a lovely multiarm chandelier adorned with wooden beads.
When you have plenty of counter space, there's nothing wrong with sacrificing some it for a hutch cabinet. In addition to providing extra storage space, cabinets that run to the countertop add a more finished, formal look to the kitchen.
Evon! Look at this. The counter top granite is perfect (just happens to be what you recommended) and the island color is perfect!! Floors are what I want. Tra La!!
