How gorgeous is this? Upholstered chairs are back with a vengeance. The delicate prints and copper greens are magnificently accentuated by the crisp white chairs and table frame.

50's and beyond - I'd like to think that as I get older, my taste will become more refined. This room has the kind of quiet elegance that I'm hoping will exist throughout my home - and in my wardrobe!

2007 SF Dining Room: This dining room has got be my all time favorite Showcase House room of all time. From the hand painted walls to furniture to the flatware, this room has got it all.

The visual elegance created by the furniture, chandelier, and even moulding leave no need for wall hangings here.

This is another great example of mixing chairs at the dining room table. The head is a perfect spot for a chair that could easily be at home in a formal living room. Playing the patterned chair off white side chairs keeps the overall look from overwhelming.

I'd never think to paint a room this gray color, but in this environment, it's absolutely perfect - formal, but not stuffy. Plus, I love the use of mismatched chairs. It's a great way to add a little pattern without overpowering.

Again, the shades of white and gray here create calm dining. The damaske upholstery adds the perfect touch of visual interest.

This soft taupe is gorgeous and perfect for the high, elegantly detailed walls. I also love the way the furniture is simple and sleek and modern in shape, but fits with the traditional structure of the room.

The mix of upholstery here –– including a damask print high-backed chair, a metallic-framed bench and the gorgeous white claw-footed chairs, is a very Regency choice, as is the stately chandelier. But the shadowy mural of a paint treatment on the moss green walls (accented with classic molding for architectural detail) is an almost Gothic touch, adding up to an eclectic, decadent look.
