Striped Traditional Living Room

Instead of using wall paper, the designer chose paint to detail this traditional living room. Colors inspired by the upholstery fabrics like marigold and yellow were used to create the wide wall stripes. Blues and reds in the floor coverings and seating brings depth to the room.

This great large ottoman can serve as additional seating in the center of this living space. That's a great way to go if you enjoy the round shape but don't have room for a full round sofa.

As elegantly seen here, symmetry need not mean spartan or office-space-ish. The many details of this sitting room are kept from chaos by the fireplace and the ottoman, which create centers to work outward from.
