paddykk Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm planning on an inside mount and install them as a reverse roll so I don't see the roll - that way I can avoid a valance. Thanks.
brendinooo1967 Hi Mikel....Beautiful job. Can you please confirm that this is white oak ...what brand of wood...and what exact brand you used for the stain/varnish. I love it.
The combination of the bold artwork and classic furniture made the dining room Irastorza's favorite room in his home. He found an antique French country table, which melds beautifully with the home's golden wood floors. Chinese wooden side chairs accent the table, along with six classic Bertoia white chairs.
The designers of this gorgeous interior allowed the classical architectural details of the room to set the stage for the few well-selected modern treasures. A good rule of thumb when working with more than one style in a room is to pick a dominant style and a complementary accent style.
Spanish designer Mikel Irastorza created his own wall sculpture by reworking a gold leaf–covered light fixture into this unique wall sculpture. Echo elements of the room. In this room, the dining table's curved leg shape speaks to the traditional paneling and decorative molding in interior designer Mikel Irastorza's bright and lofty apartment. "Pairing the table with fresh, white modern chairs makes the room sing. Although the other elements in the room speak fluent modern, the table does much of the heavy compositional lifting by pulling the room together," says DeCapua.
5. Is it a smart investment? The glorious thing about purchasing an iconic designer piece is that, unlike most new furniture, it will hold (or even increase) its value over time. That said, there is no point in purchasing an expensive piece of designer furniture unless you truly adore it and can afford it. Also bear in mind that upholstered and delicate pieces might not wear as well over the years, and you might be faced with costly repairs or reupholstering bills. "Hard" furnishings made from metal, molded plastic and wood are a safer bet.
