Our Medium Oval Cage bulkhead sconce features a solid brass cage and thick glass making it the perfect light fixture for harsh coastal conditions. Sometimes called a Tortuga ovale or clamshell light, the O-2 was created to replicate the sturdy fixture originally used on ships crossing the Atlantic.

It’s sometimes referred to as a turtle or tartaruga light and can be compared to the mariner light or other Davey oval brass bulkhead lights, A9232. What makes our light unique is that it comes UL listed and ready for immediate installation with no changes required. The chrome finished version of the fixture gives more of an Industrial / Contemporary feel; and a switch can be added for a nautical bedroom sconce. Recent installations include private residences in Skokie, IL , Naples, FL and Water Mill, NY, along with restaurants in New York City and Brooklyn.
