And when more space needs to be added--a simple table like this one works wonderfully. This kitchen also shows a realness of a real cook without looking overwhelmingly messy. The glassed cabinets keep things in order and in view. The seating area to the left invites visitors, lets the cook sit a minute, or invites a lazy afternoon of reading within close proximity to snacking. The details like the rug and the sink (and what's below) give true uniqueness. Producing a nice dinner in this kitchen would just be the added bonus.
The trash bin here is hidden beneath the sink. It's visible and functional but it's not the key decor piece. However, its old tin style adds to the shabby design of this old style home. These little touches make a huge difference in interior design.
Kitchens should nurture the soul as well as the body. I like the sink in this little kitchen...the glass front cabinets, the textures, and the "farm house" feel. I want stone or tile on the floor, granite, glass, or concrete on the counter tops, cooler colors and a more "washed" finish on the cabinets.
Love the particular eclectic elements - The styles brought together for this room - uses my taste to achieve a super cozy, charming kitchen. Uneven wood floors with lots of texture, massive porcelain sink, colors, the oriental rug ... where would this sort of thing work?
