Anne DeCocco Since it's a theatre of sorts, media rooms lend themselves to dramatic, deep color, like you see in the photo. The dark color gives great contrast to the screen, although I don't think it's a "rule" that the walls should be that way. It's all about atmosphere. Light colors just don't evoke that feeling of "showtime!"

I like this idea of painting everything the dark red/brown and then painting all the trim work on the floor baseboards and doors and adding a single molding along the side ceiling walls in the dark brown stain color of our home. Use brown recliners in the room.
