It is a black terrazzo bowl that was purchased at Barrels and Branches nursery in Encinitas, Ca. You can reach them at 760-753-2852 or www.barrelsandbranches.com

The plant in the black pot is Sedum rupestre ‘Angelina’. It is a drought tolerant succulent that also makes an excellent ground cover.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Annie Thornton added this to Great Design Plant: Sedum (Stonecrop)
If your climate, soil or simple lack of outdoor space prevents you from incorporating sedums into your garden design, why not do something similar to what Debora Carl has done here? Low-growing sedums cascade nicely in indoor planters, making excellent gifts or dining table centerpieces. Shown here: Sedum 'Angelina', zones 3 to 10
Charmean Neithart Interiors, LLC. added this to Deck Your Table With Easy Centerpieces
Green and black are a winning combination. Simple and stunning, this 'Angelina' sedum is all you need against a terrazzo pot. This is a perfect look for a patio or sunroom centerpiece.
StoneStone is another hard-wearing material for containers. And it too can be finished in a variety of ways. Here it looks sleek and graceful as an outdoor centerpiece.
This low bowl has been filled with the loose-growing Sedum rupestre 'Angelina', making a great feature on its own. Repetition or a grouping of similar planters would only intensify the beauty of its foliage.
8. Use small plants as decorative objects. I love the simplicity of this tabletop centerpiece in San Diego. The low-growing sedum (Sedum rupestre 'Angelina', zones 3 to 8) is very touchable, has yellow-green new growth and looks great in this black terrazzo pot.
Samantha Schoech added this to 10 Beautifully Blossoming Spring Centerpieces
New-Leaf GreeneryThis bowl of Sedum 'Angelina' has lasting power and that vibrant, nearly glowing green of new growth.
As with any plant, pay attention to the growth rate before selecting a site. Vigorous growers, like Sedum rupestre ‘Angelina’ (shown here), are better used on their own in a container to prevent their overtaking surrounding plants. The contrast of the intricate, brightly colored foliage and clean modern lines of the bowl in this example would make this arrangement right at home in a modern landscape or patio garden.
7. Invite plants to the table. Don’t push houseplants out of the way for gatherings when you can put them to good use as centerpieces. This Angelina Sedum (Sedum ‘Angelina’, zones 7 to 11) is ideal for tabletops with its low-spreading growth habit and durability, not to mention the fact that its tightly packed succulent leaves resemble the needles of evergreen conifers. Other great houseplants for the winter tabletop include ferns, orchids, bromeliads, Tillandsia and the red- and green-patterned nerve plant (Fittonia argyroneura).
Annie Thornton added this to Grow a Garden of Succulents for Easy Beauty
Stonecrop(Sedum spp)From upright shrubs to trailing ground covers, colorful sedum spans all garden needs. Its summer and fall flowers attract birds and butterflies. Stonecrop is cold hardier than other succulents, down to -30 degrees Fahrenheit, giving gardeners the opportunity to include other low-water plants not typically seen in a succulent garden. Plant stonecrop in well-drained soil, in full sun to partial shade. Though it’s drought tolerant, it may require additional water in extremely dry summers. See how to grow stonecrop

Stonecrop (Sedum spp) From upright shrubs to trailing ground covers, colorful sedum spans all garden needs.
