missdotty I didn't think about fridge drawers. I don't see where they would go. The peninsula is too narrow and has cabinet doors on the eating side. The wall opposite the sink would work. The good point: Fridge Snackers and Grazers are out of the work area when the chef is creating. Bad point: I like my Fridge close to the stove. In this arrangement if you are stirring something and have to grab an item out of the fridge, the pot might boil over while you marched around the island...(tee hee)
Designer Shylo Preston Regarding the island, probably a 5" or 6" wide turned posts - so my guess is that island is 24" deep before countertop. Looking at the cabinets under the peninsula, the cabinet doors appear to be about 12" to 15" wide each - my guess is that peninsula is around 96" to 99" long.
Blue Bridge Cabinetry and Design It seems to me that it's a fairly standard stainless steel microwave with a trim kit. I've done lots of these. I'd recommend the Panasonic, Sharp, or LG. You just have to make sure your cabinet opening is built to the specifications required. Oh...and spring for a convection one. You'll love it's cooking abilities (seriously).
This is a favorite kitchen photo. The room doesn't need to be large to be fully functional. From the sturdy island to the open shelving (LOVE IT), there appears to be a place for everything--even a gumball jar. All especially important with the quick cluttered messes children can make.
Check out peninsula. Like how the back side shows moulding - in Ster's case one would be operable and the others would just be door panels to give this a finished look.
