Flooring - What specific material is used on the floor here? Color please? How has it held up in a kitchen with kids? »
Jeannette Architects Hi ekpardau, My sincere apologies for not seeing this earlier. The floor is concrete with an integral "charcoal" coloring by Davis. The concrete holds up very well. We can hose out the floor right to the outside! Good luck if you haven't already completed your project.
Jeannette Architects Cabinets were fabricated by ftwoodworking.com. Material core of Skyblend with maple veneer & clear coat finish w/ yellowing inhibitors.
Jeannette Architects Yup! that's our son Griffin. He's about a block taller now. He also has several cameo's during the construction phase. Being the Owner/Architect's kid had it's advantages... check him out at http://www.jeannettearchitects.com/portfolio/residential/kelty - his first shot is picture 33 on his self appointed "clean up duty" run ~ thanks for noticing! Jeff
Jeannette Architects The countertops are Quartz ~ Lagos Blue by CaesarStone. At Jeannette Architects, we are partial to specifying Quartz for the durability and minimal maintenance factors. There are many different colors and shades from which to choose and pricing tends to run parallel to a nice granite.
Jeannette Architects The garage doors are manufactured by Clopay. Materials are Dark Bronze Annodized frames with SolarBan 60 Low-E Glazing to match the other door and window glazing in the home. This home was designed in Long Beach, California where temperatures are mild to warm in the summer. The idea of the doors allows excellent visual connection to the private courtyard as well as solar heat gain into the home, warming up the concrete floor slab to heat the home naturally through the evening hours.
Jeannette Architects Hi There,
Contact Bryce Parker Garage Doors at www.glassgaragedoors.com. They do excellent quality doors and have good tight gaskets and weatherstripping. Pay attention to the glass options and be sure to let them know where in your home they are going to help with recommendations. To fight the bugs, we installed roll down screens on the outside. Ours came from http://www.bayscreens.net/ - reach out to them if you'd like, hopefully they have installers in your region. We love ours. Good luck!
Sectional doors. The most common type of garage door is the sectional, which is constructed of panels that slide up and overhead. Sectional doors have two distinct advantages over more monolithic single-panel doors: they don't require any space outside the garage to open and each panel has its own connection to the door track, increasing sturdiness.
Like this industrial look. Is a garage door like this an option? I wouldn't want to open that every time I wanted to go outside. Would need a regular door also
