wendellymax I think this is terrific. It even has room to stick the newspaper (yes, we still get a daily) or the TV guide. Not an expensive element to have custom made - and you can choose your own beautiful solid wood to suit your style.

I had had a similar idea as a large coaster that wrapped around the arm....but conculded that the variety of arms would make the design difficult - possible to re-visit in glass??

I always am guilty of using sofa arms as a place to rest my coffee mugs and plates, and I know that food rings are not the best look. This slim side table not only remedies this issue, but it also adds a nice material change to the sofa's upholstery.
