We have a built in and would like to upgrade to a flat screen tv. This looks like a great idea. What is the cost to get a general built in converted? Any offices in California? »
Ronique Gibson I would recommend you contact the Architecture firm that built it to find out costs and offices in California. Their office is in NY, but they could probably give you contractor information as well as other offices they may have.
Annie Thornton The tv appears to slide to the side like that when it is not in use in order to access the dvds. Here are two more photos of that cabinet in varying phases of use.
alamaria this is a great idea, I was wondering what's on the other side since the tv is so deep, stored sideways, maybe it takes up part of a closet on the other side
PLEASE tell me where the receiver/boxes/cables are located on this cabinet!! - Love this cabinet. Please tell me where the boxes and cables are located. Thanks! »
I would like to know details about how this tv cabinet works. We would LOVE to put this into our home. How are the cables attached to the tv? How does it rotate with out hitting the inside of the cabinet? Where are the rest of the components (cable box, receiver, dvd player, etc)? Thanks so much, amazing idea! »
In smaller rooms, every inch counts. One of the biggest advantages to custom flat panel carpentry is space-saving. In this situation, the homeowner can use one space for media storage, display AND TV viewing. The panel slides sideways, then back into the built-in when not in use.

I wonder if a tv could be built into a cabinet that that was along the upper part of the stairwell flat against the front wall of the house & then slid out to watch (the back of TV would be against the windows when we were watching it
