bepsf 100% custom - Not only would you need an upholsterer to make the seating for you, but an architect to design a house capable of having a round, sunken 1970's style conversation pit in the floor.
I just had to throw this groovy conversation pit in here. I've been trying to compile conversation pit images but I'm having trouble finding a lot of them here - if you have any links to images, please let me know in the comments section!
Nothing is more '60s mod than a conversation pit. Designed by Roger Hirsch Architects for a Chicago townhouse, this swingin' space-age round lounge is recessed into the floor –– not an easy feature to replicate, but the groovy tulip tables and lucite chairs are affordable (and versatile) luxuries.
This is a fabulous retro space that is true to the sunken conversation pits of the sixties. Often times, circular pits like this one would surround a funky fireplace.
It may not be something you'd want in your own living room, but nothing catches the eye like a 60's inspired recessed conversation pit.
I think it's not just the colours that make this photograph so bold, but the textures as well.
