We have stained oak all through. Is it possible to sand lightly and then paint the desired colour? - The stairs is all stained oak. How much sanding is involved in order to paint the treads dark and the risers an off white? The spindles are black wrought iron? »
Chini Yang It looks like an antique gateleg drop leaf table. These are very common at antique stores and, believe it or not, on craigslist. Our family cabin in Maine has several of them in various conditions.
The Shabby Nest Ballard Designs has a similar light fixture. Here is a link.http://www.ballarddesigns.com/eldridge-pendant/lighting/pendant-lights/209472
Jo Allan On Pinterest page it's being noted as Vex C2-427. In the photo the wall color reads more sage green than the Vex number given. Lighting maybe?
Stenciled cowhides. Many times people think they have a true zebra, leopard, or tiger hide when these hides are cowhides stenciled and dyed to create a pattern resembling something more exotic.
We like the hardwood floors; the stair treads; the white trim; the window treatment; the subtle wall color; the black matte finish on the light fixture.
Thanks for asking,
Kate
