Schmitt + Company Custom Cast black concrete lower panels 5" thick w/ relief panel detail. Patina steel tube frame at door opening and header across with reclaimed steel window sash we sandblasted and re-painted. This was our original Fabrication shop office and now our studio/conference room for Schmitt & Company.
3. A garage becomes the perfect office. This modern garage space serves as an office and conference space for Yountville, Calif. based Schmitt + Company. When these general contractors moved into a new office, this space was a three-car CMU-block garage. At some point it had been turned into a guest room, so it had the beginnings of a promising room — but a lot of work still had to be done.
I like that this tiny room has been converted into a large open space in a multifold fashion - converted wall opens up into an outdoor space, interior divider walls placed to create the illusion that there exists enough space for two rooms, and two adjacent walls with storage purpose: magnet wall and shelf-desk wall. SPACE IS MAXIMIZED
