These newly retired clients were looking to build a long-lasting, eco-friendly home that fit their lifestyle and budget. By implementing some of the owners’ existing items with fresh concepts and environmentally conscious strategies and material selections, workshop created a structure that exceeded all expectations. The building is oriented toward a large backyard and the interior was kept white to maximize light and flow and to support the owner’s art collection. Although one of a kind in this suburban residential neighborhood, the home does not clash with its surroundings. This house is striking in its simplicity and allows for comfortable living and entertaining, a request made by the owners at the beginning of design.
