New entry/mudroom. Basement stairs are to the right. Photo is taken from steps going up to kitchen.
This kitchen was a total gut and remodel of a 1920s Arts & Crafts bungalow. The new kitchen is in the original footprint, except for the basement stairs, which were moved back 3', and the entry, which is in a small addition.
The cabinets are quartersawn oak, the backsplash is by Sonoma Tilemakers with an inset by Syzygy. The floors are oak inset into a slate border, which makes a beautiful and easy transition from the new to the existing oak floor in the dining room and provides a practical material in the new entry.

Dimensions - Could you tell me the width of the room and bench width. Thank you. »
Kathryn Peltier Design I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply! I will have to go back to my drawings to get you the most accurate dimension, but this space is roughly between 5 and 6 feet in width. You can see the entry door to the left and visually estimate where the open door would be, so you can see, it doesn't take a lot to incorporate some good storage!
