The new front entry features a new round top door painted a robin's egg blue and an arched canopy. The new entry provides welcome shelter for guest while continuing with the optimistic and joyous theme of the original exterior.

3. Change the scale as you get closer to the house. Having the house relate to the size of a person walking up to the door makes it more comfortable to approach. Rather than keeping everything large or grandly overwhelming, scale down the size of the architectural details and compress the space between them so there's a direct correlation between the size of our bodies and the scale of the house.
6. Make it a combo. A screen panel in the warm weather can easily give way to a glass panel when it's cold outside. This keeps the screen door useful all year round.
would have made the door seem taller and wider some how- the overhang seems too heavy or maybe just too deep? But I do love the look of the exposed bead board in the ceiling. Mailbox must go.
Interchangeable screens/glass . . . now there's an idea! "A screen panel in the warm weather can easily give way to a glass panel when it's cold outside. This keeps the screen door useful all year round."
