Beautiful - No question, just a comment... Beautiful entry. Was not considering black door with light trim/transom/sidelights on our new build... Until now. Lovely with gray siding. »
entry and storm door - We have a yellow house with black shutters and roof. We are getting a new entry door. The door has 7" of trim (white all around). I was thinking of a white entry door that matches the 7" trim with a black full view screen door. But I'm not sure. Never had a black door. Would it be better to have a black door and a black screen with the 7" white trim? Thank you. »
Crisp Architects I think either one would look great. A white door with a black screen door will probably look nice with the break up of color, however, black entry doors can bring a bold element and look very aesthetically pleasing as well. I have seen both the white door with black screen and the black painted doors on historic traditional homes. It really will depend on your taste. If you are looking to tie in the shutters, a black door would match nicely.
Please tell me who manufactures the exterior door and sidelites shown? Thanks, Dr. Bob Isett - Please tell me who manufactures the exterior door and sidelites shown? »

It doesn't get more classic than this. A screen at the home's front entry telegraphs an instant sense of coziness and welcome. Painting it black helps to set it off and create a focal point — notice how your eye travels straight to it. Yet the color is neutral enough not to stop the gaze.
