What are the dimensions of this building? - Love this building - the shape and size. It looks likes it's bigger than a 2 car garage. Are there any additional functions for the ground floor? »
Crisp Architects Thanks for your interest! The Garage is about 40'3" wide the side you are looking at, and 25'3" wide on the sides. The downstairs is simply a garage with lots of storage space. The upstairs is an apartment including a kitchenette, a great room, a bathroom, and a bedroom.
Crisp Architects I do not recall the exact shades however yes, those two colors are very similar and will give the same look. I think this bright color will work great in the tropics.
No bedroom or living room was needed in the pool house because there is a guest house/garage on the property. It has a similar style, also with board and batten siding and crossbucks on the garage doors. The roof is painted metal. The assemblage of vernacular details "are used to give it more of a flavor than copying a direct style," Crisp says.
Garages designed as coach houses and horse barns have an Old World charm that completes a home and garden. The simple and elegant structure, with square windows, carriage style doors, board and batten siding, and a metal roof illustrate the charm of simple materials and function.
THis would be great to have barn doors that slide open and on the inside have the front of a house....just like another pic I say somewhere. it makes it a little porch when you open the barn doors and has a front door and windows. love this! could build it one and a half story instead of two
