a not so big addition - the kitchen
This kitchen remodel to a 1970's era neo-colonial included a small, 5' deep addition. This was all the space that was needed and was dictated by the existing tree that we didn't want to take down. The addition was cantilevered, eliminating any foundation work that would have affected that tree roots.
We sacrificed some wall cabinetry so the new exterior wall could be all windows. The homeowner enjoys cooking in her "tree house" now.
