Brick - Limewash - Hi - sorry to ask another question about the brick, but was this brick limewashed by any chance? We have really ugly brick on our house and are thinking of limewashing and was hoping to get a result like you have in these pictures. Thanks so much for any input you have! »
Dresser Homes No, it was not limewashed. I'm not familiar with that process. This look was achieved by smearing the mortar on the brick while the bricks were laid. Good luck! Gary Dresser Dresser Homes
Dresser Homes The furniture came from Smith and Hawkins, which unfortunately, is out of business. There are some other posts on this picture about comparable products and where you might find them.

Dresser Homes I'm not sure whether there is an actual name for it. It is basically just brick with the white mortar applied (messily) to the face of the brick. I have seen a similar look obtained when painted brick houses are sand-blasted.

Dresser Homes They are made by a company called HB&G. You can probably find a local distributor in your area. http://www.hbgcolumns.com/ Gary Dresser

Dresser Homes That was about 4 years ago, so perhaps they discontinued the "Hampton". It was a fairly basic red brick though and I'm sure you could find something comparable. Really, the look here is achieved through the white mortar and by having a really good brick mason.
jthoman555 Thank you so much. If you have any suggestions on a similar brick, that would be great. Your such a talented builder. Every picture of your work is stunning!!!
Penley Art Company The patio furniture was purchased from Smith Hawken prior to them going out of business. They have some product available at Target, but it is not the same furniture line. It does look similar to the Provance collection at Frontgate.
Dresser Homes We were trying to duplicate the look of some older houses here in Atlanta where the brick had been painted and then sand blasted off. (This is a new house, btw). We used white mortar (and white sand) and had the brick masons "smear" a little mortar on the bricks with their trowel as they went. Of course we did a couple samples first to make sure we had the look we were going for. We also pressure washed the brick lightly at the end of the job.
Get the truly traditional look of a masonry fireplace by pairing a brick chimney in a fully stacked pattern and a firebox with beige firebrick in a herringbone pattern.
