so this works -- floor color would need to be similar tone to cabinets. I like the long handles (lines) shelving above sink is good -- doesn't need to be edge to edge cabinetry. The idea of have a contrasting island is good, although i'm not sure about the gray color of material. Maybe a different color.

cool idea for kitchen. Except the refrigerator will be the door, and we can continue the shelf along the top of the door and put the refrigerator to the right of the door.
