Make great use of bins, shelving, and filing systems. Create a continuity with the house. And make it a place to want to be in.

Of all of the workspace photos on houzz, I can confidently say that this is my favorite. The thoughtful blending of design and function allow for this space's minimalist chic--the materials used become the art and dressing themselves, and the natural light illuminates the simple beauty.

This open office is divided into areas for different purposes: Meeting, drafting, library, and storage. Think about anything you'll need to store. In this case, blueprints are large and require flat files and deep cubbies.

Notably, the office L-shape does not have to be all one level. I love the option of creating a multi-level L to give you two different heights of work space in one small area.
