This whole-house renovation was featured on the 2008 Austin NARI Tour of Remodeled Homes. The attic space was converted into a bedroom with closet space and bath, cooled by a minisplit system. An eyebrow window was cut into the roofline to allow more daylight into the space, as well as adding a nice visual element to the facade.
CG&S Design-Build We can't find a specific color in the specs. Paint is funny like that; it's often decided 'in the field' or over internal correspondence that is quite difficult to track down years later. In other words, it's almost always specified as TBD in the finish schedule.
A place for the bed is carved out of the leftover space under roof, while the eyebrow dormer adds joyous light to this bedroom. In a child's room, placing the bed in the alcove frees up the main area for play.
AFTER: The main design goal was to add the teenager's bedroom to the upstairs without changing the home's cottage style. Davis and his team extended the sloped roof up higher, then used a curved "eyebrow" dormer to keep the addition within the frame of the house.

If we were to add on the room to the south bedroom, I like the shape of this -- obviously I would not put a bed in the alcove, but I like the idea of the office having a main space and an alcovey space.
Unique and stunningly creative and a the same time very vibrant with colors and includes a lot of light from windows. An amazing masterpiece of artsy and creative textures and patterns.
Love this simplicity. Maggie will also love this color. She is in love with lavender, although I am not sure how much I want lavender walls. Maybe the sheets?
