Castro Design Studio They are 5" floors. Generally, the wider the board, the more movement it will have. To avoid this, these floors were "conditioned" inside the house for a few weeks to get the moisture content in check. They will have a certain amount of movement, but a good installer, and stable humidity in the house will help with cupping. Sometimes they will be glued as well as nailed to the decking, for added protection. I have only seen cupping in cases where there was a pretty severe moisture problem.
