I think the quilt-as-headboard is a fantastic idea, and inexpensive. You could do this with any kind of material, and not break the bank if your taste changes, or if you move...love it!
Low-cost idea for any bed without a headboard. Use any kind of fabric or artistically woven weave. Simply hang it on a 5-foot-wide rod. Good idea for the guest bedroom.
