Where can I find plans to build a breakfast nook? - I am trying to find plans that tell you how to build a wooden built-in bench/seat and then add my own style to it, like the beadboard here...
Any suggestions? »
Ashleigh Weatherill Interior Design Hi, I would just google it if you are looking to build it yourself. I designed the bench (gave him specific dimensions/details, etc) and had our carpenter build it. Good luck!
Ashleigh Weatherill Interior Design I would say 17-24 ". It depends on the space you have available and your size and whether you would like to have loose pillows on the seat or not. Walk around your house and measure some of the chairs/sofas/etc and see what you think you would like best. Hope that helps!
hockey63 Yes thank you. We are just beginning our remodel and are thinking a nook would be a nice separation between our family room and kitchen. We have a step down area to the family room (one step) and would like to see a break with a nook rather than a railing to divide the room. The family room is 26 feet long by 16 feet wide. I was looking at some of the different designs and kind of like the one that begins at the side of the counter and is in a semi-circle so you can either use as just a seating area or you can put an oval table with a couple of chairs. What do you think? S
Accessorize. Most formal dining rooms have knickknack-filled credenzas or artwork on the walls. Give your breakfast nook an elevated aesthetic with accessories. Don’t want to add books or display objects to shelving? Create a minibar instead.More:Introducing Hard Working Kitchen NooksKitchen ChandeliersDinner-Party Heaven: Formal Dining Rooms
Love the use of space. I assume there is storage space under the bench seating? Nice idea with the shelves - gives an even cozier feel to the space. Well done..
