Annie Thornton This chair you can buy through the Danish Design Store online. I'm sure many mid century or Scandinavian design boutiques also will carry "The Chair." It's gorgeous and will run you around $5000-$6000 new. I would also suggest ebay or 1stDibs for vintage varieties that may be a little more affordable...especially if you are planning on purchasing more than one.
joan388 I am curious -- did you ever find someone. I have several chairs similar to those in your picture, some need recaning now, some will soon. am just outside Philadelphia. thanks!
sneha My chair also needed repairing, so I ended up replacing the caning with a dark chocolate leather seat. I found someone locally (I like upstate) who does upholstering and repairing. Turned out beautifully. But I cut out the caning and saved it to be framed!
These Wegner chairs are great in a mix-and-match situation. I think the table and bench are Nakashima, or at least they look like they are, and the combination is balanced and beautiful.
Stools tucked in at the end of a dining table add another seat without making the room feel crowded. The natural wood of this stool was a great choice combined with the live-edge wood dining table.
bluewater7 = Many woodworkers and designers were and still are influenced by George Nakashima's work.
-I believe the chairs are designed by Hans Wegner.
