Before revealing the final result to the client, Amy and Elizabeth set up a special treat near the entryway. Four colorful towels with matching monogrammed buckets were waiting for the children on their first visit to the completed home. "We're very detail oriented, so we really try and take care of everything," says Amy. "It was great. She was really touched."
If it's a mudroom at home, then it must be a sandroom at the beach. No matter what you call it, having a place to store everyone's towels and beach toys right at the back door is crucial. For limited space (or budget), this hook and bucket idea is so creative! For the beach, we like it even better than a built-in mudroom. Store flip-flops or beach toys and everyone can grab their things and go. More:Coastal Chic Family GetawayModern Beach House With a Custom TwistUsing Shells in Your Décor
Beach towels are one of my biggest summer pleasures. But many times when getting home from the pool, the children either leave them in the car on on their bedroom floors in a pile. Creating a little nook like the one shown here will make it easier to hang beach towels when you get home and will ensure they're dry the next time they're needed. Keep buckets or baskets below to contain sandals and sunblock.
Side-by-side hooks. The lovely apple green and blue striped pattern adds loads of color play to this area; it also repeats the beach theme of the house. Hanging towels side by side on hooks lets you store more of them in a small space and gives each towel a chance to dry properly when unfurled.Tip: Add a cup of white vinegar (which removes excess detergent) to the rinse cycle once a month to restore towels' absorbency.

Like the idea of having these things ready to grab before heading to Grandma's or Carowinds... maybe Grandma should have this.
