Because this was going to be a vacation home, and the clients were a social couple with kids, they knew this was going to be a house that would have to host various numbers of people at different times. Setting up several little nooks in the living area means more people can sit comfortably in the room with the option of having multiple conversations at once. Except for the couch, the furniture is easy to move, which is great if an extra-large game of charades starts up. The chairs in this little sitting area are from Restoration Hardware, and the floor lamp is from Arteriors. The table is from Restoration Hardware as well, but was fitted with a custom zinc top.
