I can't get enough of this cow. She's just hanging out in the yard, waiting for some company. This statue might not have a practical function, but it offers so many photo opportunities.
The garden is actually a really natural space for sculpture - especially large pieces that would overwhelm an indoor room. I couldn't resist including this image just because I love the cow so much. She's hilarious!
Marcel Duchamp. Dada is nonsensical, and it always makes me laugh. Duchamp spent his career challenging the notions of art, confusing the establishment and, yes, laughing. I think he's probably like this random cow. I know I do.
Whoever said "garden sculpture" had to be serious? Ok, maybe this is more along the lines of garden art, than garden sculpture. Now, tell me a blue cow in the garden doesn't make you smile?!
Oh, I cannot write an ideabook about outdoor sculpture without including this statue, which I have named Bessie. I love her and the undulating grasses and columns of trees beyond her.
The exterior of your home is a terrific place to put a large sculpture if it is made out of materials that won't get harmed by the weather. This cow isn't something that I enjoy personally but I can see how it goes well with the natural landscaping of the yard.
Great example of layering in a border which serves a dual purpose as a fence. The placement of the tall trees give some privacy while allowing one to see the wonderful landscape beyond.
