Has the conversion varnish been resilient enough for the island top? - We've chosen a mahogany top for our kitchen island, but not sure if we should use polyurethane or conversion varnish. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

The answer is DO NOT use a varnish

Instead there are wood oils/creams which nourish the wood especially mahogany and a do not put a "Skin"on the surface You do need to retreat regularly to keep a nice finish Usually the finish is matt so it won't show finger marks !!

PS it doesn't look like real african mahogany ??

Are there Knots in it ?
