maureenodoogan Oh gosh, that's very generous of you to offer, but if you don't know it off the top of your head, don't worry. Seriously. I was playing around with paint colors tonight and have several experiments on the wall that I'm pleased with.

Periwinkle. Bluish purple has a majestic quality. Depending on the lighting, it can look blue or purple. It's definitely a color that makes you look twice.
Paint Pick: Dahlia 6816 by Sherwin Williams
When I move from my present home to a retirement home, I am thinking I will go with a strong blue/purple on the living room walls. Darker than this although in this tone/shade of blue/purple (I get the technical terms mixed up. I think tone has to do with how much black is mixed in to the color, maybe?) For now, my walls are staying pale butter yellow. I want my choices to fit into a medium dark blue purple room in the future.
Purple walls, gold frames, blue vase, cream chair, fantastic ornate fireplace, candle holders on wall, matching enclosed lampshade. Love this room... all of it....

These lavender walls stands on its own among all of the ornate elements of this room. It keeps them balanced so that they are not competing with each other.
Thanks.
