How tall is the ceiling in this room? - I'd like to do something like this in my son's room that has 12 foot tall ceilings, wondering how tall the ceilings are in this room? »
mveasey This room is very nice and has general appeal. This particular room needs to become a little more personal, for the ten year old I think. The bedding is nice, but fairly serious, more of a guest bedroom feel. I would use something more fun, not necessarily a theme, but something he likes.
Quintus This bed was made by my company for KW in 2006 and is still available. It is called the Zen Bed and can be found at: www.quintushome.com. This one was made from quarter sawn oak.
danimd1222 I'm not sure why all these photos were posted and there are not any responses to questions from the designer...are they just being posted as advertisement?
Kendall Wilkinson Design Hello, sorry for the delay in response to some of these questions. We have been answering them... The color on the walls is Donald Kaufman Paints, DKC 19.
Kendall Wilkinson Design The rug was custom made by Galbraith & Paul. It's their "Donuts" design. The wall color is Donald Kaufman, DKC 19 in Satin Finish.
Do you have build out plans for the custom built-in unit. This is the exact look I am planning for my sons room. I would love to be able to purchase plans from you that my cabinet maker can follow.
Thank you in advance. »
Mary Have you tried Ana White's website? I found this unit, but if you modify to leave out the clothing rack in middle and customize to surround your bed, it could be lovely! Add moulding, hardware, etc. to beautify the piece.

Chantel Castleman Hi - I've looked on Ana White's site and did not see anything quite like the shelving unit. This is exactly what we are looking for our King Size bed. Any chance we can pay for the plans you used?
6. Designing a teenager's room is usually a matter of balancing things your teenager wants now with a look that will last through high school. This teenage boys' room uses a fun and boyish brown-and-blue palette that will work for years to come. Custom built-ins around the bedframe can showcase knickknacks and trophies.
I love this mix of the white built-ins and the brown wood of the bed. The base of the built-ins are designed like nightstands so there is a place to set a glass of water or to rest eyeglasses at night with drawers beneath. The lighting is excellent especially the reading lights. And the colors! I love the colors of this room.
