do metal shades allow enough light for kitchen island? - Has anyone on Houzz used metal shaded pendants before? If you have, do the lights shed enough light? With other lights you get the light coming from the side as well and this metal shade would only shed light downward. Is it more of a beautiful accent light than a light needed to truly light the space over my kitchen island? I'll have canned lighting too. »
Form + Function There are a few unknowns, but in general I'd say that the metal lights in the finish shown will add an intimate feel that could be very comfortable. Would the recessed lights work on their own and do you only need to add direct task light for the workspace ? then you should be fine.Look for the wattage of the fixtures. It should be sufficient for prep work.
This beautiful pendant light is available in a range of finishes. Personally, I love to see a pair of them over a kitchen island, but it is very versatile and can be used all over the house.
