The Constance Drive House is a Romanesque house facing western views across northwest Seattle's Magnolia Boulevard. Rhodes Architecture Light was asked to develop a design for a large addition to and renovation of this home including a new family room, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, a master suite, foyer, and office. Crucial to the design was the creation of an eastern entrance since the house was always entered from this direction and the existing formal entrance on the southwest was not used. The creation of a new entrance included the landscaping of the rear yard, new terraces, new exterior and interior foyers and new open space incorporating the added kitchen, family room, a mud room, and foyers. New electrical, plumbing, and radiant hydronic heating systems were also added to the house.
