This little gem of a painting is done with palette knife only in oils on a 4 x 4 panel and then framed in simple 1" black frame. The luscious oil paint has great texture thanks to my use of the palette knife. A rose is a rose! A great little gem for that little spot that needs a "rosy" touch!

About the artist:

  • Painting is my passion and life is my inspiration!
  • Rosie's oil paintings are usually done with brush work but more recently with a palette knife."When I use the brush to paint in oils, I like to use a bit of the watercolor method of layers and glazing which creates a soft and luminous look however when I paint with the palette knife, the look is rich and vibrant which allows my creative process to continually evolve."
  • A native of Texas, Rosie is delighted to call Charleston, SC her home, a culturally rich lowcountrylifestyle, as of August 2010. She works from her home studio on Yonges Island where she is surrounded by the ever changing and beautiful marsh and water scenes.
  • Rosie continues to develop her personal style and loves to paint what she calls a landscape still life, a close up snippet of an outdoor scene.
  • Life is full of inspiration when you open your eyes to it!
