Brian Dittmar Design, Inc. It depends on the room. In this case, the room was about 12'x12' with 10' tall ceilings -- so to try and get the proportions to feel right (instead of feeling like you were in a tiny, tall box), I painted the ceiling dark to bring it down to a more pleasing scale. If you have short ceilings -- anything under 9' -- I would only do darker ceilings in specific circumstances....for example a powder room that you want to create the sense of being inside a jewel box.
Marie Meko, Allied ASID I did it through Hickory Chair . They will not change the interior but will custom the exterior. I think I selected one of the blue tones that they offer but they will do any Benjamin Moore color.
Brian Dittmar Design, Inc. That is a fabric from Kravet, but I am fairly certain it's been discontinued. However you should be able to find similar small-scale geometrics either from Kravet or another fabric vendor.
Brian Dittmar Design, Inc. hi-it's a Murano glass chandelier that actually came with the house when my clients bought it....used to hang in the dining room but we moved it here and put shades on it. So I'm afraid I don't know where it's from...
Home No. 1: Tailored details and patina in Presidio Heights
The owners of this elegant home in San Francisco's Presidio Heights neighborhood wanted a look that was traditional but still livable. Dittmar incorporated soft colors, textiles, and beautiful patina with more structured and classic elements, such as tailored upholstery.
In this office, the combination of clean and classic desk set and fun colors breathes new life into what could easily become an old-fashioned look. The pop of the dark wood in the secretary and the structured upholstery on the desk chair — both by Thomas O'Brien for Hickory Chair — keep this little nook from becoming too girly.
This desk, designed by Thomas O'Brien, is a wonderful transitional piece. It plays with geometry and has clean lines, yet pays homage to traditional secretaries. I believe this is the desk that Mr. Big used to conceal a television in Sex and the City II. Carrie Bradshaw wasn't a fan of that concept, but I think it's a good design compromise for a TV in your bedroom.
