This double washstand sink from Waterworks is finished in polished nickel with matching fittings. The countertop is fashioned from an unusually thick slab of Carrera marble. Note the contemporary mirror with traditional sconces which are mounted through the mirror. (1996-1998)

This vanity keeps the bathroom looking much more open. In order to have a look like this work, you will need storage elsewhere in the bathroom. One thing I suggest is seeing if your contractor can install a closet or a nook large enough for towels and toiletries in the bathroom wall. Sometimes you can borrow the space from a bedroom closet that backs up to the bathroom.
