This is great example of a living area in which modern doesn't have to mean minimal. This room is full of little touches and drama, but its lines and colors keep the overall look current. Its definitely not Miss Havisham's living room, but it's not Jetsons-style, either.

What I love most about this room dressed in black in white are the ways these two colors show up in prints: on the chevron rug, the Greek key pattern on the pillows, and the black trim framing the cornice and edges of the drapes.

Love how the accessories dramatize the basically white room...esp. the black border on drapes almost mirroring the frame on picture, the wonderful sofa pillows and rug...and of course, I love the black shades--been there a long time.
