A quick question about the tile? - Hi, this is absolutely lovely! Can you tell me what kind of tile is on the floor?
And is the tile on the side of the tub the same as the floor?
And is the back wall next to the shower the same as the above?
THANK YOU! for the time to answer! »
zekez2 The countertop is ceramic tile that tries to imitate a piece of limestone. The countertop is bordered by travertine trim. The short backsplash has the same ceramic tiles as counter, but a small decorative piece of marble was added on a diagonal. The marble is gold with a rosso piece in middle. An interior designer, Ron Mallot, was very creative in using higher priced materials with lower priced materials to create the look the homeowners wanted, but fit into the budget.
zekez2 Yes, the shower enclosure has the same ceramic tile on the lower portion of the walls. The listello , like the tub, surrounds the middle portion of the shower or just a little above the middle. Above the listello to the ceiling, the shower is tiled with a diamond shaped ivory travertine. The floor has small 2 1/2x 2 1/2 ceramic tiles that have a rough texture and look like stone. It is enclosed with a glass door. The area around the door and the doorway was trimmed out in the same tile as the floor. They were cut down to fit.
zekez2 Decided against a towel hanger due to arch. We just fold the towel by the sink. There is another vanity/ sink on the other side of the bathroom.
Bill Fry Construction - Wm. H. Fry Const. Co. Wow, beautiful arches!
The first company I think of when I see a faucet like this is Rohl. The general description would be a bronze 3-hole faucet with metal levers in victorian style. This one most closely resembles one made by Delta:
zekez2 It is a patterned ceramic tile. There are many different variations of the tile. A good, detailed tile installer is essential to vary the different patterns and not put too many of the same patterns together. Then, this ceramic tile has more of a natural stone look.
