jennlee1111 Thank you for the response. I called RHardware and they only have the 3 and 4 inch pulls. Did you special order them from them? Also, did you also use the modern knobs as well to match? Love your design
Favorite kitchen on houzz! - I am using this as my inspiration kitchen and would love to know the color of the white cabinets. I am having trouble finding a white that looks good with Carrara. I appreciate your help! »

Wendy Quenzer Just wanted to say I completely agree! I also believe they are Quincy. The ones in the bathroom definitely look like Quincy too. This house is so stunning and well done!
are the cabinets wood or plastic? thanks! - hello! we are building a house and i love the idea of white cabinets and dark island but was wondering if they are plastic cabinets or wood? also are they white or off white? thanks! »
Urrutia Design I don't know the specific number or name of that particular Benjamin Moore "Black." The finish color had no traces of blue, gray or brown. It had the appearance of a true and pure black.

031011 Maybe you have already found the black color of paint you were after however just in case, I am in process of searching for a specific tone and came across Benjamin Moore "Black" Color # 2132-10. Hope this helps you further.
shagnos One of the responses says the cabinets are a white stain and another comment said they are painted with Benjamin Moore Super White oil based paint. I am a bit confused, sorry. Please clarify.
Urrutia Design I'm the designer of the kitchen... so you can take my word. The cabinets are painted with Benjamin Moore Super White oil based paint.

Urrutia Design Morning,
The white cabinets, brown tile and stainless fixtures will look great with dark brown floors (not necessarily "black" floors). I wouldn't recommend pairing black cabinets with a black or dark brown floor. They'll look a bit heavy and will need some necessary contrast. Light floors are always practical as they reflect sunlight and hide dust, scratches and other blemishes in the floor. Dark floors are less forgiving in regards to maintenance and are a very moody design statement. --Jason Urrutia/Urrutia Design
I see the sink on the island is directly across from the cooktop. Does this arrangement impact the work space for using the cooktop? Or does it work better to offset the positions? Thanks for your advice. »
Anne DeCocco I like the sink being directly across from the stove. You lift the big pot of boiling pasta, make a simple turn, and drain it in the sink. Easy peasy.
Love the kitchen! Do you mind telling me who makes the hood? I see the Subzero/wolf range but the hood doesn't quite look like the wolf prowall hood. Thank you! »

If your kitchen isn't doused in natural light, but you'd still like to explore the idea of black cabinets, bring in other light-reflecting materials. The white upper cabinets, stainless steel appliances and hardware and the texture created by the white grout and black backsplash tiles work beautifully with the black cabinets.
Black and white is about as timeless and classic as it gets. This kitchen with the shaker doors goes a bit more contemporary with the black island and dark subway tile with white grout, but its bones are still grounded in the classics.
Dark brown cabinetry looks awfully dated these days, unless it is done with clean lines and paired with a nice, crisp white. This is warm and modern at the same time.
