Eutree Wide Plank Flooring Beyond that it looks like they used a water borne clear poly finish as well. That allows the wood to keep its natural color and not turn overly golden from an oil based finish.
Spacing - Hi, I love this! Can I ask: Did you leave the same amount of space between the kitchen cabinets and the island as you did between the island and the outside entry? Maybe about 4" between both? I am designing a kitchen and struggling with whether to leave more room between the island and outdoor entry than I leave between the cabinets and island. Thanks very much and I love your work! »
Did Urrutia Design do the architecture too? This is a very unique and interesting floorplan! - The interior design is beautiful too and really accentuates the clever layout of space. Love it! »

Originally the far end of this space — now a dining area — was a bedroom. Urrutia knocked out a wall to transform a 14x45' room into this 14x65' room. At right is one of the home's most popular innovations: two 22-foot folding doors that open to the pool and outdoor kitchen. "Before, it was all lit with windows, with a door to the deck at each end," Urrutia says. "I wanted to connect the indoors and the outdoors."
Black absorbs rather then reflects light, so if you are using a large amount of the hue in a space, try to counter it with plenty of light — preferably of the natural variety. The high white ceiling, skylights and wall of sliding glass doors in this kitchen more than balance out the black.

Love this whole kitchen look, and it has my fav countertops on the side counters, and the Wolf stove. Probably would choose a wood/butcherblock countertop for the island.
