missyme This room was featured on a Material Girls post of 3/5/08 (among others), where they identified the colors as Ralph Lauren Embassy Purple (#TH59) walls with Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois molding (OC-13) and Benjamin Moore Early Morning Mist (#1528) above the paneled wall.
"In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different." Well. This is different to be sure. You would never forget dining in this room. But the choices of white here keep the purple from being royally over the top, and the simple painting drawing on those white colors helps a calm continuity.
All of the elements of this dining room - even the fact that it IS a formal dining room - are traditional. But there's something just a little unusual and really appealing about the combination of white and that great purple.
I never thought I would write this: Purple is back! This hue has never been one of my favorites, but after recently designing a bedroom for an 8 year old I am starting to come around! The use of rich purple here is so chic.
Surprise! Didn't expect to see this room in an Ideabook about red dining rooms, did you? I couldn't resist including it because it delivers as much impact and passion as the red rooms we've been viewing. And WOW, look at that gorgeous chandelier contrasting against those rich, dramatic walls. Almost takes your breath away, doesn't it?
Fall is here, winter is on it's way. Consider warming up your dining room this year with beautiful red walls. Don't be afraid...it's just paint and your holiday china will shine in your new red dining room.
In this particular setting, keeping everything neutral makes the wall and the chandelier the focal points. Love the settee used for dining instead of more chairs.
More regal purple that makes an undeniable statement without overwhelming. The small details such as the chandelier, frame, and furniture framing, help to make all the difference.
I LOVE the dark purple walls!! The contrast between the dramatic color on the walls and the plain white chairs, table cloth and curtains and the elaborate chandeller compliment the room
