This walnut kitchen was built in collaboration with Union Studio for a discerning couple in Mill Valley. The hand-hewened cabinetry and custom steel pulls compliment the exposed brick retained from original structure's former life as the Carnegie Library in Mill Valley.

Can you provide some details regarding the use of the hot rolled steel? - How thick is the sheet metal, where did you get it and what kind of company fabricates it? »
The Last Inch,Inc. Thank you for your interest in our project. The fridge doors are a custom design that includes a proprietary finish of ours. We sourced the steel ourselves and had a steel fabricator build them. We have used a similar application on the walls in another kitchen design of ours. We offer our design services on an hourly basis, with a two-hour minimum if you are interested in the design specifications.
Deciding where to put the refrigerator can be tricky. "We ended up placing it front and center, but downplayed its 'refrigeratorness' by cladding the doors in hot-rolled steel," says Bear.
