West Village Townhouse Kitchen by Made Brooklyn architects Made designed the kitchen for this West Village townhouse. It's not shiny, glamorous, or eye-popping, but rather quiet, somber, and respectful of its brick and timber shell... Some things we like in particular: Age. The appearance of age in the pendant fixtures, dining table, and bar stools make for a very comfortable fit in the surrounding architecture of the home. Color. The only vivid color is in the bar stool upholstery, which is beautiful against the patina of natural materials everywhere else. Unfitted. The fridge is set into the niche beside the fireplace, but it's not built-in. The kitchen is made up of mostly stand-alone pieces that look like they were accumulated over time instead of fitted flawlessly at once. That imperfect quality does a lot to emphasize the space's warmth and character. For more work from Made, visit their website . Love the fireplace mantel as well. posted by susan on March 16th 2009 at 5:07pm view susan's profile I seems comfortable, lovely and long lasting. More David Weeks lighting, yey! He seems to be popping up more and more. I'm not a big fan of a flat screen TV in the dining room but to each his/her own I guess. posted by monroe on March 16th 2009 at 5:08pm view monroe's profile LOOK! A Dining Table, a TV and a Fireplace in the same kitchen! posted by bepsf on March 16th 2009 at 5:26pm view bepsf's profile This is my dream kitchen. The brick, the fireplace, the beams, the tv... swoon. The only thing that would make it better is a couch and a better view of the tv from the kitchen. posted by frenchfry on March 16th 2009 at 5:57pm view frenchfry's profile This may be the most perfect kitchen ever. I think I have marked this shot for about ten different ideabooks; it's so divine. One of the many elements that makes the space is that warm brick wall.
This, to me, is the perfect football setup: one big open space so everybody from kitchen to couch can be a part of the party. Plus, all the better for the soup's scent to fill the house.
