Mirrors. This amazing kitchen belonged to New York designer Miles Redd. While he's since redone his space, the spirit of this one lives on. He admitted that he didn't do a whole lot of cooking - the kitchen was designed for cocktails, really. His parties, though, always ended up in the kitchen, so he wanted a space to do them proud. These mirrored countertops, while not wildly practical for everybody, are more than fabulous, especially with the black and white palette. In a "regular" kitchen, mirrors could be incorporated as a backsplash or on the walls - even as a part of the cabinets. And the sexy black and white, and cool floor design, could definitely translate into any home.

I don't think I could do this but it is really eye catching. I love bold contrasting colors schemes but I have such eclectic taste that I also love soft washed out color pallets with a punch of startling color or a pinch of a bolder tone of one of the muted washed out ones. It reminds me of a sepia picture with one color remaining.

This is amazing, but like the Star Trek kitchen on a plane on a cliff, not in my house. This bold design hangs together well for what it is. Way too non-traditional for my house.

This is the kitchen Nick and I have been modelling ours on for awhile now! We're planning to epoxy the entire downstairs floors white and quite liked the look of the black cabinets with the white floor and black countertop. The mirrored backsplash would require a lot of cleaning, but my is it lovely!
